These terms are the agreement between you and DNAGroup SRL for using RoleMatch. By creating an account you accept them, together with the Community Guidelines, the Content & Copyright Policy and, if you subscribe, the Subscription Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. The service
RoleMatch lets adults write interactive fiction together: timed live scenes with other players, stories that continue asynchronously with an AI narrator, private stories with friends, saved characters and a shared story ambience. Some features are part of the optional RoleMatch+ subscription.
2. Who can use RoleMatch
- You must be at least 18 years old. By creating an account you confirm that you are. Minors must not use RoleMatch, and accounts found to belong to minors are closed.
- As an extra safeguard, scenes above the Romantic intensity also require the in-app 18+ declaration and, where we require it, a successful age verification.
- One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer your account. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You may not use RoleMatch if we previously suspended you, or if the law of your country forbids it.
3. Prohibited content and conduct: zero tolerance
RoleMatch has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. By accepting these terms you agree to follow them; anyone who breaks them is removed from the service. The full rules are in the Community Guidelines. In short, you must never:
- create, request or share any sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors, in any form, including fiction;
- post sexual content or sensitive images outside what the Community Guidelines allow, send sexual images to anyone who has not opted in to receive them, or share intimate images of real people without their consent, including deepfakes;
- harass, threaten, bully, dox or demean real people, including other players;
- post hate speech or content that promotes violence, terrorism or self-harm in the real world;
- share personal information of yourself or others;
- upload content you do not have the rights to;
- spam, advertise, impersonate others, scrape the service, create accounts in bulk, or interfere with its security;
- break the law.
4. Moderation, reporting and blocking
All user-generated content (messages, stories, characters, notes, names and images) is filtered automatically: objectionable text and images are rejected or removed.
- How to report: in the app, tap "Report" on any message (long-press it), profile, story or character, or go to Account › Help and safety › "Report a problem or abuse". You can also write to us: [email protected].
- What you report is hidden for you right away. We review every report within 24 hours.
- Content that breaks these terms is removed and its authors are suspended and banned from the service, permanently for serious or repeated violations. Content reported by several users is hidden for everyone until it is reviewed.
- Blocking: you can block any player from their profile or one of their messages. Their content disappears for you at once, they are never matched with you again and they can't send you requests, invites or notifications.
When we act against your content or account we tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision by writing to the contact below. This is also our point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you write and upload.
- You give DNAGroup SRL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content, to show it to the other players of your stories, and to process it with our AI features, only as needed to run RoleMatch. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in stories other players kept.
- Stories are collaborative. When you write in a story, the other players in it keep reading your contributions for as long as they keep the story.
- When a live scene is skipped or not kept, it is deleted for everyone.
6. AI players, narrator and AI tools
Narrator events, story recaps and some characters are written by AI. AI players are labelled "AI". AI output can be inaccurate, repetitive or unexpected, is not advice of any kind, and does not represent our views. Report anything inappropriate.
7. RoleMatch+
The subscription is sold through the App Store and Google Play and is governed by the Subscription Terms and by the store's terms.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep RoleMatch available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may change or discontinue features. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, you can cancel and, where the law provides, obtain a refund.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using RoleMatch and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if required by law, or to protect other players, telling you why unless the law prevents it.
10. Liability
RoleMatch is provided as is. We are not responsible for content written by other players, which we do not review before it is posted. To the extent allowed by law, our liability is limited to direct, foreseeable damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or wilful misconduct, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
11. Apple devices
If you downloaded RoleMatch from the App Store, these terms are between you and DNAGroup SRL, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, is not responsible for claims relating to the app, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies where these terms do not cover a matter.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and can bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution information at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
13. Changes to these terms
We will tell you in the app about material changes at least 15 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before then.
